The Journey to Choose an Effective Niche and Drive Traffic for Affiliate Marketing in Vietnam
Lessons from Mistakes:
Like many beginners, I used to struggle with choosing a niche.Free information on Google wasn't enough, I looked for paid courses but realized they were mostly focused on foreign markets and niche site building mindsets. The formula of "less competitive niche + long tail keywords + low difficulty" and focusing on website SEO is not completely suitable for the consumption habits of Vietnamese people.
Priority order of niche selection:
Take advantage of available traffic sources:
If you have existing groups, fanpages, websites/blogs, take advantage of them to make money from ads, Shopee links, or links to related courses.
For example, pirated movie sites and free applications often insert links to Lazada, Shopee to take advantage of cookies.
Hot Niche Choice, High Profit:
The Vietnamese market currently has 4 hottest segments: Finance, Mobile Offer, E-commerce, and some D2C products.
These niches never go out of style and have high profit potential.
Niche Tailored to Interests and Knowledge:
Doing what you like and are good at will make it easier for you to create value for your customers and stay motivated.
Niche with little competition but enough profit:
A niche with less competition may be easier to do, but it is necessary to ensure that there is enough traffic and profit potential.
Pull traffic effectively:
Website is not everything: In addition to website SEO, there are many other ways such as running Facebook ads, Tiktok, building groups, making Tiktok content videos.
Learn from Successful People: Observe how successful people in your niche drive traffic and learn from them. Example:
TMĐT: Tiktok review, website review, mã giảm giá, group Facebook.
Finance: Running Facebook, Google, Tiktok, SEO website ads.
Advice:
Choosing the right niche and the right method of driving traffic is the key to success in Affiliate Marketing.
Don't be afraid to learn from your predecessors to shorten your path to success.
Wish you soon find the right niche and traffic driving method to achieve success in Affiliate Marketing!
The story of CHOOSING a NICHE and PULLING TRAFFIC to start with Affiliate in the Vietnamese market
Like many of you who are just starting to learn about Affiliate, I have also had difficulty choosing a niche. At that time, I searched for information through Google, but when the free knowledge was not enough, I decided to invest in some "paid" documents.
Here are three interesting points I learned from the process of choosing a niche and driving traffic:
Thinking about choosing a niche mainly from foreign markets
Most niche guide articles are based on experience from foreign markets, especially the US. The popular formula is "Find a low-competition niche + long-tail keyword research + low difficulty" and focus on website building and SEO. Although this method is effective for the international market, when applied to Vietnam, many factors may not be suitable. Shopping habits and customer behavior in Vietnam are different from those in the US. The rigid application of methods from the US without the flexibility to adjust can lead to choosing the wrong niche or quantifying the wrong commission level.
Choose a niche according to your actual priorities
Choose a niche based on the available traffic source: If you already have an online community such as a Group or Fanpage, take advantage of them. For example, if you have a shopping group, tap into traffic from that group by placing affiliate links for related products. Similarly, if you have a blog about personal development, you can set affiliate links for related courses.
Hot and profitable niches: In the Vietnamese market, there are currently four hottest and most profitable segments: Finance, Mobile Offer, E-commerce (E-commerce), and some D2C (Direct-to-Consumer) products. These niches are always in high demand and have great profit potential. For example, the Finance niche always has a need to borrow money, and even though e-commerce is competitive, there are always opportunities for those who do well.
Niche you both like and strengths: Knowledge and passion for a field will help you bring value to your customers. For example, if you have knowledge of information technology, it will be easier for you to convey information and build trust with customers than in areas you are not familiar with.
Less competitive but profitable niche: A less competitive niche will be easier for newbies and can SEO to the top faster. However, if that niche has too little competition, the inbound traffic may be low, and the profitability is not high. Therefore, you need to carefully consider the level of competition and profit potential before embarking.
Pull Traffic Effectively
Websites are important, but not everything. You also have many other methods to drive traffic such as running ads, making video content on TikTok, or building a community group. For example, pirated movie sites or free apps often take advantage of various forms of advertising to drive traffic. Taking advantage of these practices can help you increase your affiliate traffic and commissions.
Personal Experience:
After two years of working as an affiliate in Vietnam, I realized that:
"What you're doing, someone else may have done it before. Instead of finding your own path, learn from successful people to save time."
Once you've chosen a niche, observe how successful people in that niche are driving traffic. For example, if you choose e-commerce, you can see popular methods such as reviews on TikTok, making discount code websites, or building a community Facebook group. Learn and apply techniques from successful people to achieve the best results.
In Summary: Choosing the right niche and attracting effective traffic from successful people is a way to help you shorten your path to success in Affiliate. Hopefully, this article has helped you get a better perspective and find the right niche to start your journey. Wish you early success with Affiliate Marketing!
