Difficulties of Starting an MMO for Beginners: Practical Stories and Lessons Learned
Rough start with Dropship:
In 2016, I entered the world of Dropship with almost zero knowledge. Inspiration comes from videos and articles online, but no one specifically tells you how to get started. I spend hours on YouTube every day learning, but most of the information is vague and unapplicable.
The first challenges:
- Expensive: Buying themes, not knowing how to set up a payment gateway and add products.
- Thinking Mistake: Choose products by sales quantity instead of looking for potential items.
- Buying an ineffective fanpage: Investing in an American fanpage in the hope of attracting customers but failing.
- Trouble running ads: Getting hit with copyright sticks and losing pages.
- Payment issue: The order is held by PayPal, which must be verified in limited English.
Redirect to electronic products:
In 2017, I switched to working on Blogspot, posting products on Ebay and electronic forums. Lucky to get regular orders, but have difficulties in shipping and processing product certification requirements.
Challenges with Ebay and PayPal:
Selling on Ebay is not easy, customers often report errors and ask for refunds, especially Indian customers. I ended this product business in 2018 with PayPal debt due to refund requests.
Lessons learned:
- Difficulties are inevitable: For newbies, everything is difficult, and it's important to find the motivation to keep going.
- Perseverance and Learning: Don't be discouraged by failure, persist in learning and looking for solutions.
- Do your research before investing: Don't rush to invest money, research carefully about the field you want to be in.
- Build solid knowledge: Invest time and effort to build a solid knowledge of MMOs.
- Seek support: Don't be afraid to seek support from the MMO community, they can help you through the difficulties.
Conclude:
MMOs are not an easy path, but with perseverance, learning, and seeking support, you can be successful. Don't let the initial difficulties discourage you, look at them as challenges for you to grow and develop.
