Perhaps many of the brothers in the group are long-time SEOers and are still doing their best in the profession. Writing a post that shares purely technical and SEO thinking can be like using your own strengths to communicate with other people's strengths. I don't dare to dance the axe through the eyes of the worker.

Therefore, in this article, I will share a pure case study about "monetization orientation". Of course, SEO is still an indispensable factor and an important contributor to the overall picture, but I won't go too deep into the technical and methodological parts. Making money is the thing, isn't it?

This case study was conceptualized and put into operation in 2019, and in 2020, it began to achieve certain successes. Hopefully, the following experiences will be somewhat helpful for those who are looking to embark on this SEO path.

DOMAIN

Although many people say that a new or old domain is not so important in SEO, for me, the old domain still has an advantage. The available values of an Expired Domain such as age, trust, backlink,... will definitely be an advantage that the new domain cannot have.

To search for and buy an expired domain name, I use the expireddomains(.) net website with the following filtering criteria:

• .com or .net or .org domain name
• Trust Flow + Citation Flow >10
• The domain name contains the main keyword of the website

After filtering a list, I continued to check the website history on the Wayback Machine to see if it posted content that violated the policy. The last step is to check the backlink history on Ahrefs. There are quite a few articles about searching for expired domain names on Google right now, you can do more research.

In short, an old domain name with pre-existing values will save you more time in SEO. If you're using the method of pulling traffic from Social, this is a very good option (a domain name with a long history and high trust will be favored in "triggering reach" as well as having a higher recommendation rate).

WEBSITE

Wordpress, of course, is a no-brainer. Although many people still complain about Wordpress's limitations (security, speed,...), but for me, having clearly defined the goal of making a website to make money, Wordpress is the number 1 priority.

Why do I say that, because of the following reasons:

• Making a Wordpress website is easy, even for someone who doesn't know anything
• There are many pre-optimized Themes, users only need to install them without further fine-tuning
• There are many Plugins that serve a variety of purposes
• There are many articles and video tutorials available
• There are many people who are willing to assist you (for a fee or for free depending on the difficulty of the problem)

Among the themes I've used when working on a website with Wordpress, I find Newspaper to be the most perfect theme for ad optimization. The Newspaper + Google AdSense duo seems to have been born for each other. Combining Auto Ads and Google AdSense's Maximum Load Ads mode with this theme will bring maximum efficiency.

Theme Newspaper costs around $50 (copyright). Although there are many free sharing places as well as cracking instructions on the Internet, in my opinion, it is recommended to buy genuine products to limit the risk of malicious code and unexpected problems in the future.

I've encountered malware in the theme, which affected all websites on the same host, with a bunch of Japanese, Chinese, and automatic redirects to other sites. It took a whole month to fix, it was really tiring.

HOSTING

If you have determined to work seriously, you should use a VPS. Although hosting is cheaper, after a lot of experience, I no longer use cheap Shared Hosting packages. The main reason is that every time a website encounters huge traffic (from on-trend posts from SEO or recommendations from Facebook), the website often crashes. Realtime around 150-200 is the beginning of flickering, and above 200 is a frequent error. There is nothing more painful than seeing money drop but not being able to get it.

Later, I added Cloudflare to reduce the load on the website. If you can afford it, you should go with Cloudflare's $20 Pro plan for full features. Otherwise, the Free plan is enough. Tutorials on Cloudflare are available online.

Bolt: It is recommended to use VPS + Cloudflare.

CONTENT

Over the years of working with websites, I have used four main methods to create content:

1. PP1: Use the Wayback Machine to retrieve content from websites that are no longer working. In Google's eyes, when these contents are restored, they are still considered new and unique.

2. PP2: Copy articles from closed groups or articles on fanpages but have not been indexed by Google (not all articles from social are indexed). Be kind by leaving the source.

3. PP3: Every day, go to Google Trends, select the "last 24 hours" mode and search for keywords such as "who is", "what is it", "clip". These are topics that always have content to write about and garner an extremely large amount of traffic. In particular, the keyword "who is" combined with the current development of Tiktok, you will not lack articles to write.

4. PP4: Perform keyword research and technical SEO, make lists, and hire contributors to write articles. The price ranges from 50-100K/post. In general, you have to invest money in anything.

In Vietnam, the topics of Drama, revealing clips, etc. are always the things that attract the most traffic. With a little thinking, the ability to circumvent the rules, and use Google Trends, you can garner hundreds of thousands of traffic per day with just one article.

Regarding the direction of SEO, I determine that it will follow two main directions:

1. SEO for a strong domain: An already strong domain will make it easier to get to the top of any article.

2. SEO keywords of important articles: To have a steady amount of traffic on a daily basis.

The story of SEO still revolves around content and backlinks. As for the content mentioned above, as for the backlinks, I rent them, both from domestic and international services.

Cheap backlinks I rent from Fiverr and SEOClerk. The backlinks are of higher quality and the Backlink Social package I hired from a domestic unit. Generally, when it comes to hiring backlinks, as well as drugs, it is difficult to determine which source is more effective.

SIGN UP FOR GOOGLE ADSENSE

First, it should be noted that Google AdSense is not the only platform for advertising and monetization. Apart from AdSense, there are many other platforms such as Mgid, Adskeeper,...

But...

AdSense is still a monument and a goal that many people aim for. Many people think that signing up for AdSense is difficult, but for me, AdSense is the easiest platform to sign up for if your website meets all the following requirements:

• Before registering, the website must have at least 10-20 unique articles, not copied. If it's a Vietnamese site, you can write it yourself, if it's an English site, you can rent it on Fiverr (25 USD/20 posts).
• Website bắt buộc phải có 5 trang cơ bản: About Us, Contact, Private Policy, Terms and Conditions, Disclaimers.
• The website needs to be installed with Google Analytics and Google Search Console and must be indexed (many of you register when the site is not indexed or the article is not indexed).
• It's best to have a little traffic, not much, 10-20 visits a day is fine.
• If rejected, continue to request 1-2 more reviews, the majority will be approved.
